Cann House has been proud to be accredited with the following achievements:

Six Steps Accreditation

In August 2018, Cann House achieved both the Individual and the Organisational Six Steps Accreditation.

To achieve and maintain this end of life standard both the organisational and the individuals go through a rigorous initial assessment process with St Luke’s Hospice and annually thereafter.

The Six Steps Accreditation is now a local quality marker recognised by the Local Authority and those who achieve it are recognised in the Plymouth Online Public Directory.

Kitchen Hygiene Rating 4

On 11th September 2019 following an unannounced inspection our Kitchen Team achieved a rating of 4 for Food Hygiene. This rating reflects the good standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection by the Local Authority. The Food Safety Officer inspecting the business checks how well the business is meeting the law by looking at: how hygienically the food is handled, how it is prepared, cooked, reheated, cooled and stored. They check the condition of the structure of the buildings, the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation. All records are checked including the daily opening and closing checks. At the end of the Inspection the Business is given one of the six ratings from 0 – 5. The rating of 4 means the business was found to have good hygiene standards. (Food.gov.uk)
